Job Summary

The Quality Engineer is responsible for the establishment and continuous improvement of Quality Systems, procedures, processes and documentation to meet standards, regulations, technical and customer requirements for goods and services.

Essential Functions

  • Creates and maintain company quality documentation such as control plans, procedures, work instructions and manuals
  • Use of root cause analysis for implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions for product and process related concerns
  • Interface with Engineering and Operations to ensure transfer of new products to production
  • Ensure documents compliance to specifications thru PPAP
  • Responsible for continuous improvement activities to enhance the quality system such as 5S, Kaizen, and Lean methods, etc.
  • Support quality inspectors to ensure products comply with relevant requirements by developing and improving inspection methods and equipment
  • Incorporate use of statistical methods in daily functions such as sampling plans, process controls, design of experiments and process capabilities
  • Monitor supplier performance, conduct audits and assists with supplier problem solving thru corrective action process
  • Prepare reports by collecting analyzing and summarizing data and makes recommendations
  • Maintain and improve quality by completing product, process and system audits
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications and participating in professional organizations

Qualifications

  • Highly motivated self-starter
  • Excellent writing, presentation, communication and organization skills
  • High level of computer literacy – Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • CAD software knowledge a plus
  • Good statistical and problem solving skills and creative approach for new ideas
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Experience

  • 3 years of experience preferred

Education

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
